Please be aware that there has been an amendment to the Feb. 2005 FIFA ruling the "you must touch the ball in order to be called offside"
You now can be called offside prior to touching the ball :
"A player in an offside position may be penalized before playing or touching the ball if, in the opinion of the referee, no other team-mate in an onside position has the opportunity to player the ball"
"if an opponent becomes involved in the play and if, in the opinion of the referee, there is potential for physical contact, the player in the offside position shall be penalized for interfering with an opponent
Soccer Referees Niagara (SRN) was formed in 2005 to assist in the education and training of referees in the Niagara Region. The association is open to all soccer referees interested in bettering themselves. Our referees service all levels of soccer competition within the Niagara Region and beyond, including adult, high school, and youth Leagues. SRN is a non-profit, NSA approved organization that provides training and all activities related to supporting these efforts. Our Site is primarily intended for professional support and assistance to our Membership and the Leagues that we support, but we do offer some information of use to the general public.

Referee Renewal Forms
OSA Referee renewal forms for 2009 are now available for you to print on your computer. Go to the forms page to get yours. March 31st, is the deadline. This only applies to referees who are renewing for 2009. This does not apply to those people wishing to become a referee this year.
